Hard 98A tires offer far better performance in park and street settings than typically soft outdoor wheels, which can feel sticky and unresponsive at the worst possible times in a bowl or on a ramp.

They are also more durable than traditional indoor wheels because the lack of a plastic hub means the tire is extra thick - that's also what acts to provide the necessary grip on such a hard wheel. Keep in mind these are best suited for aggressive-style skating that includes a lot of jumping, pumping, carving, and grinding.
